The Robson Square Plaza was host to the Screening Premiere and Launch Party of “UBC LipDub “ on the evening of April 8^th, as both Robson Square and the PACE Group donated their facilities for this event. For those who don’t know, a “LipDub” is a video that combines lip synching and audio dubbing filmed in one tracking shot, and close to 1,000 people were involved in this particular version which was filmed at the Point Grey campus in late March. Many previous LipDubs, created by universities across the country and Europe, have gone viral and the UBC group have taken advantage of this fact by persuading corporate sponsors to pledge between $0.01 and $1.00 for every YouTube hit received during the first thirty days of the release.
